Assistant Cylinder Distribution Manager

The Assistant Cylinder Distribution Manager has an important role within CK and is responsible for coordinating the delivery of cylinder gases, product orders, and supplies to customers. This individual will assign routes to the drivers and work in alignment with the dispatch personnel to meet the delivery needs of the customer while ensuring orders are filled correctly and safely in an efficient manner. This position assists with communicating, reviewing, and scheduling the maintenance needs of delivery vehicles for the safety of the employees, customers, and the public. Also responsible for leading the morning Fill Plant team with safely and accurately loading cylinders, hard-goods and equipment for customer deliveries and branch shuttles.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
•Supervises the Fill Plant Technicians for the loading and unloading of cylinders/supplies from vehicle using forklift, hand cart, and other manual movements
•Resolve any customer issues or concerns with the Customer Service team
•Serve has the backup for the Cylinder Dispatcher
•Conduct safety meetings with Drivers monthly
•Help with establishing delivery routes and coordinate deliveries of products to customers
•Communicate with branch personnel regarding store deliveries
•Make necessary adjustments with routes, personnel and equipment on an as-needed basis
•Ensure all required cylinders and equipment are bar coded properly before loading fordistribution to customers
•Ensure products shuttled to branch stores arrive in a timely manner
•Help maintain departmental scorecard and goals
•Update and discuss issues with the Distribution Manager and Fill Plant Manager daily
•Communicate important policy, safety, procedure changes and company updates to the team ina timely manner.
•Comply with all administrative guidelines and complete the required reports in a timely manner
• Exhibit flexibility with frequently changing customer needs and provide timely solutions to meet staffing and business requirements
• Ensure and maintain the proper cleanliness of vehicles and enforce the driver pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Enforce and comply with all local, state, federal, and DOT regulations and requirements
• Assist with scheduling and maintenance of delivery vehicles
• Assist in training and developing commercial drivers
• Exhibit a courteousness and professional image to customers and employees
• Conform to uniform and safety equipment policies
• Follow and enforce all safety guidelines and requirements including proper personal protective equipment for employees and visitors

QUALIFICATIONS/ REQUIREMENTS
• High school diploma/ GED, required
• Previous supervisory experience, required
• Ability to utilize good judgement in decision making while leading a diverse team of 8-12 commercial drivers
• Must be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of people.
• Must be able to work independently while also working with a team to meet shared goals
• Capable of working in diverse and often unpleasant weather conditions.
• Capable of completing basic mathematical calculations and entering correct information on logs and other reports.
• Vision correctable to within normal range for vehicle driving and completion of reports.
• Ability to move or lift products and materials of varied sizes and weights, sometimes in excess of 75 pounds.
• Position requires prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, lifting, and climbing
• Must have the ability to operate all necessary equipment.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in English.
